One of the Ten Commandments, as written in Exodus 20:12, tells us to “Honor thy father and thy mother that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.” This is the 1st Commandment with promise! “Dear Daddy” is a tribute to fathers and documents what in fact is far from uncommon in today’s society. You see, mama and daddy separated and divorced when their three children were very young. This resulted in mama being forced to take on two roles to not only be mama, but also try to fill the role of daddy, which is one I am certain God never intended, nor one which she desired. Although we experienced a lot of difficulties while growing up, we still somehow managed to develop a bond with daddy, in spite of the adverse circumstances; one that could not be broken or destroyed, even when faced with one of the most difficult challenges of our lives –
