Ana and Reid need luck to finally smile upon them. After a horrifyingly complicated birth of their first child, Ana is paralyzed and bitter, struggling with the limitations of life in a wheelchair, her relationship with Reid, and her resentment towards their child. All of this is set to change with the words every New Yorker longs to hear: a lottery for affordable housing. They win a rental apartment in Deptford, one of the most admired buildings in New York, with a beautiful view of Central Park and stunning architecture.
