On her first studio album in five years, singer/songwriter Vonda Shepard creates a modern-day soul gem with From the Sun. Due in stores on September 16th, the album basks in Shepards warm and intoxicating vocals, reflecting Entertainment Weeklys proclamation that The singer/songwriter genre doesnt get any better than this. The Hollywood Reporter marveled, her soul-baring confessionals are tempered by flashes of wit and whimsy along with a hook or two and often bittersweet underpinnings. Produced by Mitchell Froom (Elvis Costello, Randy Newman, Bonnie Raitt), From The Sun features guitarist James Ralston (Tina Turner, The Del Fuegos), bassist Jim Hanson (Johnny Cash, Rodney Crowell, Bruce Springsteen), and drummer Matt Chamberlain (David Bowie, Tori Amos, John Mayer), as well as mixer/engineer David Boucher (Daniel Powter, Indigo Girls, Andrew Bird).
